Piggly Wiggly’s Waggly Tails Cookout
It was a busy two days (Friday and Saturday) at the Piggly Wiggly in Camden. We held a cookout to benefit Walter M. Crowe Animal shelter! Ribs, chicken, and hot dogs were grilled out and sold to the community and we are happy to announce that we raised $3,624 in those two days! There are many people who made this happen and we would like to thank the following companies/people:
- Kunzler and Company, who donated all hot dog franks – Red Rose Franks
- John Durst Bread Company, who donated all buns
- Coca Cola company, who donated drinks
- Budweiser of Columbia who donated banners and tents
- Pepsi Cola, who donated drinks and cups
- Lance Company, who donated chips and crackers
- Double A DJ, Aaron Williams, donated his time playing music on Saturday
- Kornegay Funeral Home donated visitor tent by dog pens
- Steve Jackson, Manager of Piggly Wiggly of Camden and his family for organizing and working the event
- Ricky and William McLeod (owners of Piggly Wiggly) fully supported event as well as David Hardy, supervisor
- Many volunteers cooked chili and manned the hotdog stand
- Many volunteers who watched over the shelter dogs who joined the event
- Cowboy and Tony who helped grill ribs and chicken
- And the community for coming out and supporting the event. We sold out of all of our ribs, chicken and hot dogs. A huge success!
Below are a few photos from the event. We had shelter dogs come to hang out with us and a few even found their furever homes!
